Flybe Dash8 crash lands at Amsterdam Schiphol

A Flybe Dash 8 Q400 has suffered a gear collapse incident while landing at Amsterdam.

The aircraft (G-JECP) was conducting flight BE-1284  from Edinburgh to Amsterdam when the accident occurred. Judging by videos captured of the accident, the right-hand main gear collapsed after touch down, causing considerable damage to the aircraft. The crew declared Mayday, Mayday, Mayday and reported that they were evacuating on the runway. The aircraft was assisted by fire emergency service shortly after.

Weather at Amsterdam appeared to be bad with a possible strong cross-wind component. No injuries were reported.
